Exactly the same issue here - I am furious. I have used cards that were in the approved list and unfortunately I have ended up with files with ZERO sound. No waves when opened on audacity. After speaking with the tec reps, it appears it is a fault with the machine. My university bought this machine for important research interviews, and we have now lost three. Not happy at all.

Funny enough, I'm having the same issue, but with the 1GB card that they sent me with the device... and after looking, that card isn't on their list. Seems crazy they would include a card that isn't approved.

I need to get a replacement, but apple website didn't provide any information about how to get support for online purchasing iPhone 4... They saids i need to go to carrier where i bought.. but i bought from apple online store, how i get support?? in Singapore

1. If it required the use of specific cards than it should be in the manual or on the box I shouldn't have to do research online before using ANY product.
2. I believe this is a free country and I can write anything I please on MY website!

If you took the time to call Zoom you would find out that you are using an incompatible memory card. If you visit the following link, there are a list of memory cards for use with H4n. http://www.zoom.co.jp/engli...

I have both at the moment. I don't like the mics and preamps on the Tascam DR100 as much as those in the H4n, but it's simpler, less prone to file-related fails and has wheels for adjusting the gain. It also has less self-noise, the floor on the H4n is way too high for my tastes.

So I use the Tascam.
